The park was Michigan pioneer, Joshua Simons’ home in the 1820’s.  The site has an original farm complex, historical village, picnic facilities, and recreational areas.

The Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center is an adventurer’s dream!  The center features an indoor waterpark with a lazy river, water playground, lap pool, and water slides.  It also has a gym, Tree Fort, lounge, skateboard park, inline skate rink, a rock climbing wall and so much more.

There are a variety of activities for all ages and interests.  All are located within a short drive of Livonia.

City of Northville
A quant downtown area with boutique shops, art galleries, and eateries.  A favorite store of one of our committee members includes Dancing Eye Gallery.  It is also home to Northville Downs, a horse racing facility located close by the Schoolcraft campus.  It also has dining onsite and a concession stand.

 

City of Novi
This is the metro area’s largest mall Twelve Oaks Mall.  It features anchor stores including Nordstrom, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, JCPenny, and Sears.  Plus, the state’s only Cheesecake Factory.  Several strip malls are within close proximity of the mall.

 

Detroit Experience Factory
This non-profit organization hosts a variety for tours in Detroit.  There is something that will interest everyone.  Regularly scheduled tours for the public include:  Art & Architecture, Best of Downtown, Downtown & Beyond.  Best of all, some of these are FREE!

 

Motor City Brew Tours
The company offers a variety of bus, walking, and bike tours of the Detroit breweries.

 

The Henry Ford
A Detroit tradition and gem for the city.  If you have not been here before, we highly recommend adding this to your list of things to do.  Features four unique attractions in Dearborn.

Ford Rouge Factory Tour
Public tours begin on the historic grounds of The Henry Ford with busses departing for the Factory Tour every 20 minutes from 9:20 a.m.-3 p.m.  Busses return regularly from the Visitor Center with the last bus returning to The Henry Ford at 5 p.m.

Henry Ford Museum
The museum has a variety of American historical items, car collection, Henry Ford’s violin collection, and much more.  Many items you may recall from past history, including the Kennedy Presidential Limousine.

Greenfield Village
Outdoor museum that is based on American traditions and history with seven historic districts.  View demonstrations such as:  weaving shop, glass blowing, and more.  See how Americans in past generations really lived.  It is well known for their Model T rides and Holiday Nights festivities held in December.

Giant Screen Experience
The theatre features a new state of the art 4K digital projection and sound.
